Community outreach
FEFY supports school outreach and engagement programs organized by Sugarbush Soaring staff. These initiatives include:
- Aviation Career Exploration Visits: Local youth tour the airport to learn about aviation careers, observe flight operations, and explore the facilities.
- STEM Education Tours: Harwood High School Aviation STEM classes, focusing on aerodynamics, have toured the airport to gather information on aircraft and wing design.
- Community-Based Learning (CBL) Mentoring: SSA staff provide mentoring for students involved in CBL programs at Harwood, U-32, and Montpelier High Schools.
These programs allow students, including members of the Line Crew, to earn school credit for their active participation and interest in aviation careers.
Local youth are welcomed to the Warren-Sugarbush airport for “Airport Day”
